goals, strengths and values
Personalized goal setting: My role is to help identify what recovery looks like for you, whether that's maintaining sobriety, rebuilding relationships, returning to work, improving health, or creating a more balanced lifestyle.
Strengths-based support: Rather than focusing primarily on problems, recovery coaching emphasizes your existing strengths, skills, and resilience to support long-term recovery.
Values: We will work together to identify your values. In doing so we can look at any situation we find ourselves in and ask if our values are being pushed or challenged in an unfavorable way.
accountability… to a point
Accountability: Regular check-ins can help you stay focused on your goals, celebrate progress, and learn from setbacks while maintaining sight of the bigger picture.
Practical problem-solving: Together we can learn to navigate real-world challenges, such as developing daily routines, managing activating situations, finding healthy activities, or accessing community resources.
Motivation during difficult periods: I will work to help you explore your own reasons for change and maintain momentum when motivation fluctuates.
thriving skills
Relapse prevention planning: While I will not provide clinical therapy, I will work with you to identify high-risk situations, develop coping strategies, and create a plan for responding if challenges arise.
“The best time to practice coping skills is when we don’t need them.”
Reduced isolation: Recovery can feel lonely. Having a consistent, supportive relationship with someone who understands the recovery process can increase your sense of connection and belonging.
Long-term recovery focus: Though we will only meet for a specific number of months, it is not uncommon for previous clients to reach out for a single session to recalibrate. As your coach I am also available by text if you just need a little extra support.
